Mission Statement, Services Provided, & Contact Information

The mission of the student services office is to provide a comprehensive program to assist all students academically, personally/socially, and in making career decisions. This is accomplished through collaborative efforts with school personnel, parents, and community members. Students will learn and apply the skills necessary to help them reach their full potential as effective students, responsible citizens, productive workers and lifelong learners.

The School District of Marshfield Comprehensive School Counseling Program provides a framework to service all students in the personal/social, academic and career domains

School Counseling

The school counseling program provides personnel, materials and special services related to the present and future academic, personal/social, and career needs and planning. Listed below are a few of the services available to students from the school counseling office:

  • Counseling – Assisting students in acquiring the knowledge, attitudes, and interpersonal skills to understand themselves and others. Building effective decision-making, problem-solving, and goal-setting skills.

  • Programming – Information relative to appropriate course selection and graduation requirements.
  • Records – Student records management, including test scores, grades, and court documents.
  • Testing – Coordination of standardized testing programs as well as special tests related to achievement, college entrance, vocation, military, etc.
  • Xello – College and career search engine used to help students with post-secondary plans and to create an Academic Career Plan.
  • Applications – Guidance on information and forms for students and parents related to post-high school programs.
  • Financial Aid / Scholarships – Information on alternatives for financial aid and scholarships for post-high school education and training.

Counseling Curriculum

Content delivered to all students through classroom activities, interdisciplinary curriculum development, group activities, parent/student workshops

Individual Planning

Assist students in academic and career planning, decision making, and goal setting.

Responsive Services

Prevention and intervention, screening, consultation, individual and small group counseling, crisis counseling, referrals.

Program delivery and support, professional development and collaboration.
