Informational Interview, Student Role
- Research the career field and business before your informational interview.
- Complete any classwork you miss due to participating in the interview.
- Complete required program paperwork, student schedule, student role & expectations, questions for your informational interview mentor, signed parent or guardian permission form, informational interview student experience, a thank you note for your mentor or site, student survey.
- Dress appropriately, follow the standards of the site you visit.
- If you cannot attend at the scheduled time, call your informational interview mentor before the appointment.
- Arrive a little early or on time, introduce yourself, act professionally, thank your mentor for their time.
- No cell phone use, unless you first ask your mentor if you may use it to take pictures.
- Check in with the program director after the informational interview.
